Their CC direction of transcription was found to be from right to left. The CC 2.3 kb mRNA was found to be early, whereas the other three were CC late. The 2.3 kb mRNA was shown to encode an alkaline exonuclease CC whose coding sequence extends past the start of the 1.9 kb mRNA. CC The product of the 1.9 kb mRNA is putatively a capsid protein, but CC this remains to be proven [1].
