  We are pleased to announce the twenty-first release of BioModels Database. In this release, 68 new models have been published and numerous existing models have been updated. BioModels Database now publicly provides 409 models in the curated and 420 in the non-curated branch. Together, these 829 models comprise 130800 species, 151274 relationships (which include reactions, rate rules, events and assignment rules), and 106210 cross-references.

  We are pleased to announce the twentieth release of BioModels Database. In this release, 65 new models have been published and numerous existing models have been updated. BioModels Database now publicly provides 366 models in the curated and 398 in the non-curated branch. Together, these 764 models comprise 119745 species, 135889 relationships (which include reactions, rate rules, events and assignment rules), and 24666 cross-references. Read more...

  We are pleased to announce the nineteenth release of BioModels Database. In this release, 69 new models have been published. Moreover, numerous existing models have been updated. BioModels Database now publicly provides 326 models in the curated and 373 in the non-curated branch.   To provide the worldwide community with a modern tool for the collaborative creation and sharing of models in an efficient and secured way, the Jürgen Eils and Nicolas Le Novère groups are announcing the JUMMP project. It is planned that JUMMP will be used as the software infrastructure running BioModels Database.   New BioModels Database paper published in BMC Systems Biology: BioModels Database: An enhanced, curated and annotated resource for published quantitative kinetic models.

  The Virtual Cell recently released a new version of the SBML to VCML converter. This new version provides various improvements (for example to the unit conversion/factor handling), but most importantly it brings support for events constructs. As we use this converter in BioModels Database in order to provide VCML files and numerous models contain events, this means that more models are now available in the VCML format.

  BioModels meeting 2009

  The Fourth BioModels Meeting will be held from March 28 to 30, 2009, at the EBI in Cambridge (United Kingdom). The annual BioModels meeting is a gathering of BioModels resources developers and curators, users, developers of third-party tools, and people who would know more about it. The meeting will feature presentations from the various attendees, demo of the new features of BioModels Database, tutorials, and discussion sessions. This event will follow (and partialy overlap with) the 7th SBML Hackathon, which will also be held at the EBI.

  Four simulators use BioModels Database to benchmark their performances

  BioUML, CellDesigner, the Systems Biology Workbench and the Virtual Cell published benchmarks using BioModels Database, showing that it is now recognised as the reference resource in the field.

• 20th November 2007

  The UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research council (BBSRC) funds long term development of BioModels Database through its Bioinformatics and Biological Resources Fund. The BBRF will support a curator and half a developer during four years.
