Alternative Transcript Diversity Database
The Alternate Transcript Diversity Project (ATD) Project aims to understand the mechanisms that are responsible for the formation of transcript isoforms on a genome-wide scale by creating a value-added database of full-length alternate transcripts from human and mouse. The AltTrans pipeline extends upon the AltSplice pipeline to derive Transcript Patterns from AltSplice Splice Patterns - a Transcript Pattern is one which is annotated for transcription start site, splicing and the terminating polyA site. [full-text PDF] NewsWe are pleased to announce that new interfaces will be available in 2007. ASD and ATD websites will be merged into one website called ASTD. You can see some screenshots by clicking here. The ATD project at EBI is headed by Eleanor Stanley and Gautier Koscielny and was initiated and headed (until 31 August 2005) by Alphonse Thanaraj Thangavel. The ATD-EBI team is supported by grants from the EC: ATD consortium (LSHG-CT-2003-503329) and the Eurasnet consortium (LSHG-CT-2005-518238). It was supported by the ASD grant from the EC (QLRT-CT-2001-02062) until November 2005. Other related project by the EBI team : ASD-AltSplice ConsortiumA consortium has been formed for this purpose and it is headed by Daniel Gautheret (INSERM, France).

The ASD and ATD databases are now combined into one.
The new database is named ASTD - Alternative Splicing and Transcript Diversity database, and exhibits no loss of functionality or data.
Database release is accompanied with greatly improved web interfaces that can be viewed at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/astd
The current structure of the database is now in:
ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/astd.
You may find the previous releases of ASD and ATD at this new location.
