A-MEXP-26 - UI/Robinson Apis mellifera brain 9K version 2.0
The honey bee brain microarray consists of ~9000 cDNAs selected from a set of ~20,000 brain ESTs. Microarrays were constructed as described (C. W. Whitfield et al., Genome Res. 12, 555 (2002)), except that each cDNA was spotted twice on the microarray. The 8872 cDNA clones used for microarray fabrication were selected to represent different transcripts (by sequence assembly of 5? ESTs), but were estimated to contain 20% gene redundancy based on sequence alignments with full-length Apis gene sequences and with matching gene sequences in Drosophila. GO annotation is derived from the single best gene match in Drosophila proteins database RELEASE 3.1 (BLASTX, E-value < 1E-05).
