Phd Student - Saez-Rodriguez research group
When starting my studies in Graz (Austria), I couldn't decide whether I should focus on wetlab biology or computational modelling and thus started Bachelor's degrees in both Molecular Biology and Computational Sciences, which I also finished in 2009 and 2011, respectively. For my Master's, I moved on to Biotechnology and also did a joint programme between Graz University of Technology and Cranfield University (UK) that allowed me to obtain an additional degree in Applied Bioinformatics. For my Master's projects, I curated models for the BioModels Database at the EBI (group of Nicolas Le Novère, 2011) and developed a single cell screening assay for soluble markers using droplet-based microfluidics at EMBL Heidelberg (groups of Christoph Merten and Jan Korbel, 2012). My PhD research involves integrating biological knowledge about signalling pathways with drug-perturbed expression datasets, with which I plan to elucidate unknown mechanisms of drug action by comparative analysis.
