GO:0051319 G2 phase

Term Information

ID GO:0051319
Name G2 phase
Ontology Biological Process
Definition The cell cycle 'gap' phase which is the interval between the completion of DNA synthesis and the beginning of DNA segregation (usually by mitosis or meiosis).
Restrictions This term should not be used for direct annotation. See comment below for further information.
Comment Note that this term should not be used for direct annotation. If you are trying to make an annotation to x phase, it is likely that the correct annotation is 'regulation of x/y phase transition' or to a process which occurs during the reported phase (i.e mitotic DNA replication for mitotic S-phase). To capture the phase when a specific location or process is observed, the phase term can be used in an annotation extension (PMID:24885854) applied to a cellular component term (with the relation exists_during) or a biological process term (with the relation happens_during).

ID Mapping

QuickGO maps between different identifier types by using a combination of mapping files provided by the databases, and using identifier cross-references supplied by UniProtKB.

If more than one identifier type needs to be used to map all required sequences, drag the selected databases to change the order in which identifiers are found.

Co-occurring Terms

These tables show the number of times the term listed in the table has been co-annotated with GO:0051319. The terms are listed in descending order of number of times the term has been co-annotated.
The table on the left is calculated using both electronic and manual-evidenced annotations, while the table on the right is calculated using only manual-evidenced annotations.
