QuickGODataset Statistics
GO Term InformationQuickGO contains information for 39923 GO terms, as defined in the version of the GO OBO definition file (GO OBO CVS), which was downloaded at: 2012-09-27 02:17.You can find a history of changes to the ontology here. Annotation UpdatesThe annotation set was last updated on Sunday, 29 September 2013, and contains 191583809 GO annotations to 28714084 distinct proteins.QuickGO scanned the annotations in 77328ms (0.40 microseconds per annotation).
How the QuickGO Dataset is Generated
Annotation BlacklistThis list aims to correct annotations to UniProtKB accessions from incorrect annotations inferred from electronic annotation (IEA) methods that are supplied by the UniProt-GOA project to the GO Consortium. Details of the annotation blacklist can be found here.Annotation Post-processingUniProt-GOA will be displaying some electronic annotations that have been subject to minor post-processing to ensure taxonomic correctness of annotated GO terms. Details of the annotation post-processing can be found here.GO Consortium AnnotationsGO annotations from member groups of the GO Consortium may also be viewed in the AmiGO browser. However, the display of annotations between QuickGO and AmiGO can vary, due to the different update frequencies of the two tools plus the fact that QuickGO provides electronic (IEA-coded) annotations for all species in UniProtKB with GO annotations, while AmiGO only supplies electronic annotations for 12 model organism species. Additionally, it should be noted that UniProt-GOA only integrates manual annotations from external groups, and external annotations can only be incorporated where external sequence identifiers can be mapped to corresponding UniProtKB accession numbers and the GO identifier associated has not been made secondary.PDB Gene AssociationsQuickGO does not contain the GO annotations to PDB entries from the PDB Gene Association File since the entity annotated in this file is a protein structure rather than a protein. The PDB Gene Association File can be downloaded hereHow to download and install your own copy of QuickGOInstructions on how to download the QuickGO software (including the source code), plus links to the latest data sets can be found here.
