Release MySQL dumps We plan to provide release dumps of IPI data in a simplified relational database schema
for each species, in the same way we provide other flat files dumps, in order to be loaded
by users into their own MySQL server.

Forthcoming file format changes A few format changes will occur in the next IPI release due on the 22 of February 2006
to provide more information about the
revision status of RefSeq entries:
Fasta format file: RefSeq entries listed after solitary "REFSEQ" database code. documentation /
sample
UniProt format file: REFSEQ_NP and REFSEQ_XP database codes replaced by REFSEQ_STATUS where
'STATUS' represents the RefSeq
entry revision status. documentation /
sample
Protein xrefs file: separate columns for RefSeq NPs and XPs replaced by a single
one for all RefSeq entries (subsequent columns shifted to the left).
Entry status
information
available for each referenced RefSeq entry. documentation /
sample
Gene xrefs format: Ensembl peptides moved from column 13 to 11. Single column for
all RefSeq entries (subsequent columns shifted to the left).
Entry status
information
available for each referenced RefSeq entry. documentation /
sample
Other formats remain unchanged.

RefSeq entry status to be used instead of XP and NP prefixes We plan to use more information available from the different data
sources used to build IPI, in order to improve IPI datasets. This
may have consequences on IPI data set formats.
January 2006
February/March 2006
IPI data sets for Cow (Bos taurus) to be produced
December 2005
January 2006
Addition of Vega data in
IPI Human, Mouse and Zebrafish
August 2005
September 2005
IPI data sets for Chicken (Gallus gallus) to be produced
Publication of IPI history files IPI IDs are propagated between releases wherever possible. In some cases, IDs are lost
(usually because the master entry is dead in the source database). From the next release,
we will make IPI history files available to allow users to track deleted IPI IDs.
February 2005
March 2005
Addition of cross-references to the Transcriptome database (trome)
February 2005
March 2005
Addition of H-Inv data in IPI Human
January 2005
February 2005
LocusLink source database replaced by Entrez Gene Entrez Gene is the successor database to LocusLink. For species covered by LocusLink,
it will still be possible to access the data using the Entrez Gene identifiers
(more
information...).
December 2004
January 2005
IPI data sets for Arabidopsis thaliana to be produced
