GO @ EBI

GOEBI's Gene Ontology pages

The Gene Ontology (GO) Consortium is an international collaboration among scientists at various biological databases, with an Editorial Office based at the EBI. A full introduction to the GO project, as well as links to search tools, data downloads, and contact information, can be found on the GO home page.

The objective of the GO project is to standardise the representation of gene and gene product attributes across species and databases. The project provides ontologies for describing gene product characteristics and produces gene product annotation data from GO Consortium members, as well as tools to access and process this data.

The GO group at EBI coordinates changes to the biological content of the GO vocabularies, and is headed by Jane Lomax.

GOA

GOA is a project that aims to provide assignments of gene products to the Gene Ontology (GO) resource. The goal of the GO Consortium is to produce a dynamic controlled vocabulary that can be applied to all organisms... more
